Anxiety
What is anxiety?
Anxiety is a normal human emotion. It refers to that feeling of worry, fear, or unease about something that might happen. You might notice it as distress, apprehension, or dread, and sometimes we feel it physically, as headaches, an upset stomach, tight muscles, or sweating.
In fact, a manageable amount of anxiety can actually help us perform better in certain situations. It’s what pushes us to study for an upcoming test or keeps us alert when we sense danger, like noticing a car approaching as we cross the street.
Anxiety becomes a concern when it sticks around for a long time or starts getting in the way of living the life you want. That’s when it may be diagnosed as an Anxiety Disorder.
